PRESALE AT STARTICKET

As of the beginning of September, tickets will be available on www.starticket.ch or over the hotline 0900 325 325 (CHF 1.19/Min. from landline).

MAIN TICKET BOOTH AND BOX OFFICE

The main ticket booth and Info desk will be situated in the courtyard of the PROGR. It will open 1 hour prior to the first screening. In every venue will be a ticket booth to get Single Tickets for the night.

FILM BLOCKS & SECTIONS

Film blocks at shnit are divided into four sections with a different theme each. One block (ca. 90 mins) includes about 6 short films. Generally, age rating is 16+; the children’s program LITTLE & SHORT is for 5 year olds and older.

LANGUAGE OF FILMS & SUBTITLES

The International Competition is subtitled in German and English. For all other programs: if the original language is neither English nor German, the films are subtitled in English.

shnit EXPO – ART | EAT | DRINK  

The art and exhibition zone in the courtyard of PROGR and in the circus tent will include several food stands, as well as bars. Performances will be held by the BONE festival during the festival days.

ACCESSIBILITY FOR PEOPLE WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT

Two short film programs will again be shown with a sign interpreter: Wednesday and Friday at 7pm at the Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) and the French Church.

ACCESSIBILITY WITH WHEELCHAIRS

The following venues are accessible with wheelchairs: Berner GenerationenHaus, SBB Bahnhof Bern, Hotel Schweizerhof Bern, Kornhausforum, Heiliggeistkirche, Französische Kirche, Aula PROGR and  the courtyard at PROGR .

ATTENDING THE FESTIVAL

Q: How do I attend a shnit PLAYGROUND?
A: Select one of the PLAYGROUNDS or shnit CINEMA venues depending on what is in your country or closer to where you live. Under TICKETS | PROGRAMME – PLAYGROUNDS you can find all the different PLAYGROUNDS and similarly under TICKETS | PROGRAMME – shnit CINEMAS. Under VENUES | MAPS you can find the different cinemas and venues where shnit is taking place. On TICKETS | FESTIVAL PASS you can find all the info on how to purchase tickets for said PLAYGROUND or shnit CINEMAS venue.

Q: Wo kann ich in Bern übernachten?
A: In Bern gibt es eine Vielzahl von Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten. Für besondere Wohlfühlmomente empfehlen wir unser Parter- Hotel Schweizerhof Bern. Informationen zu weiteren Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten erhälts du bei Bern Tourismus. Sie helfen dir gerne den idealen Schlafplatz für dich zu finden. 

Q: How do I volunteer?
A: If you wish to support the festival as a volunteer, we are more than grateful. For Berne fill in the following form: www.volunteers.shnit.org.

Q: How do I place my vote for the shorts? 
A: Once you’re in a movie theatre, the venue manager will explain how the voting system works. You will then be able to vote online.

Q: How do I know what movies will be shown in a program block?
A: You can see the schedule of your PLAYGROUND under FILM | PROGRAMME BROWSER pertaining to your PLAYGROUND. When you click on a program block, it will show you the description of the block, including all films.

Q: Where can I purchase tickets to attend the festival?
A: You can either buy them online at starticket.ch, via hotline (0900 325 325) or on one of the more than 1500 selling points all over Switzerland. The other option is to buy your ticket at the festival: From October 5-9 2016, you can buy any ticket category at the main ticket booth in the festival centre at PROGR.
