Soldier Kornilov gets an order from his command officer, Praporshik, to guard a military installation, situated far away from the military base in the stone quarry near the forest. The command officer promises to pick him up in a week. When Kornilov arrives on the object he discovers that the only place he can sleep in is the drag-line excavator’s bucket, which he suppose to guard. One week has passed, but nobody has come to pick him up. The food supplies are running out. The soldier lives in the bucket in absolute ignorance.
