In the dead of the night. On the third floor of a recently renovated old apartment building: While Miriam is peacefully sleeping in the arms of her boyfriend, Paul, a marital fight is escalating on the floor above them. When the badly battered neighbour Amelie sits in front of the couple‘s door, Miriam is suddenly wide awake. Miriam wants to help Amelie. Maybe even save her. Paul does nothing at first, then makes tea and a bad joke. But these little gestures have more effect on the stubborn stranger than Miriam’s well-intentioned efforts. And in the end, it is Miriam who confronts the abusive husband and fails to understand the rules of own her familiar world.
